Chippenham 3-0 Yate Town........

.........And it could have been worse, much worse.

Very little quality, passion, skill, effort or ideas on display.

No one on the pitch was taking responsibility, they lacked confidence, belief and leadership.

We didn't seem to have too much on the bench either, some bright prospects perhaps but no experienced, quality Semi-Professional footballers with the skill, guile and knowledge required at this level.

Even Thommo and Lee seemed resigned to our fate. I don't want to knock anyone's confidence further but our guys wouldn't have scored in a brothel tonight, and our defending at set-pieces has become a joke. The keeper just doesn't cope with corners, although he did make some great saves, stops etc to keep the score down.

I don't know wtf has changed, but something has.

It was a cold, wet evening in Chippenham and the team gave us precious little to cheer about. They seemed very short on confidence going forward and we had very little composure on the ball from 1 to 11.

Just looked at the table and we have conceded 35 goals in 17. Any team with that record is going to be struggling, no matter how many we score.

I can't get there on Saturday, but come on Yate ! Lets get back the early season form and confidence

Blimey Mark, just for a second there, I thought you had been watching The Mangos at Brackley

I have never seen us do well at Chippenham but it is worrying the number of goals we are leaking.
I think the problem is not solely with the defence as a lot of times the ball is given away cheaply in midfield or by the forwards and clearances keep coming straight back.
We don't seem to have players capable of holding the ball up and waiting for support so our main tactic seems to be to smack it forward and hope for the best. When this doesn't work there seems to be no plan b.
This season I'm not quite sure who is making the decisions as the pre match warm up often seems to be organised by Lee Jefferies or Paul Chenoweth and Richard Thompson frequently returns to the dug out before the end of half time.
It will be interesting to see what the team is like against Hemel.

Very disappointing performance throughout. Seemed like a deep lack of confidence through whole team. No tactics to speak of, apart from lumping the ball forward. To be fair, Jake & Aaron worked hard for scraps. Against Mangos in the cup, we pushed players into wide positions which is the only time I have seen it in the last half dozen games, and we deservedly won. Cracker of a strike from Beadle, fit to win any game!

I know results breed confidence, which is our biggest problem. Come on guys, have the confidence to play the game you know you can, instead of "Route One and Hope for a break", and the results will turn.
