F A Trophy Bishops Cleeve 1-2 Yate Town

Well done Yate for a great result away from home in the Trophy.

Joe White opened the scoring on 20 minutes...good to see him scoring again.

Bishops Cleeve equalised on 68 and an own goal won it for us.

as you said mark it was a great result considering the size of their back 4 and their bullying tactics we played some very attractive football, the way we played against the wind in the second half gave us a well deserved win

Good to hear that we deserved the result, Terr.

I think what's also significant is that we have beaten another team from our own division and away from home.

I guess the only downer was Warren's red card.

Looks like's Moggy was right to declare his faith in his squad in the Gazette this week. http://www.gazetteseries.co.uk/sport/ya ... ung_squad/

Next Saturday's home match v Gosport Borough will be very interesting. Looking forward to it already.

Btw that win was worth £2000.

The next round( Home on 17th Oct. v BEDFORD TOWN ) is worth £ 2300 ......Not insignificant sums of money!... http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/FACompeti ... 00809.aspx

It was good to see that the team can battle and not let their heads go down, unlike so many occasions last season. Had to survive a 45 minute onslaught in the second half, against tough tactics and a very strong headwind and when their equaliser went in, I did wonder. Fair play, though, to dig in and win it with a great breakaway and a brilliant ball from Joe across the 6-yard box which was always gonna cause trouble. Unlucky for their guy (as I told him) when he tried to get a block in and put it past his keeper. Great win though against a side obviously high on confidence. More of the same, please, lads. Bring on Gosport !
