Halesowen Match

Postby YeltzDoc on Thu Nov 20, 2008 4:23 pm

Hello gents (and ladies),

For those who can't make it to The Grove on Saturday, there'll be live updates on the Yeltz forum at www.yeltz.co.uk/forum with the teams going up about 2.45pm.

We're looking forward to seeing Danny Woodhall again, more for conversations he had with our fans at the play-off final last season than for his short spell between the sticks for us a couple of years ago...

For those who are travelling, you're welcome in The YeltzBar before, during and after the game, have a safe trip up.

Oh, and one other thing, is Yate really the sort of town referees come from?

(Spotters badge if anyone gets the reference.)

Cheers Yeltzdoc.

I'll go up if I have a really productive morning at work on Saturday, but realistically I can't see me wrapping everything up by 12.30pm.

Anyway, our form suggests that the outcome is a foregone conclusion, but you never know!

As for the Referee quote, I know it comes from a song, something to do with the alphabet , but I've forgotton which one.
TBH I don't think any referees would want to live in Yate, not with Thommo living here, he wouldn't give them a minute's peace, lol!

Edit.........I've gone away and found the song.......Here's the link

Top effort Yatesman.

Good Biccies knowledge, the second home league match in a row whose team have an HMHB reference - the other being Farnborough, whose one-time physio wrote "Standing In The Road" by Blackfoot Sue, well, according to Nigel Blackwell anyway, as the fact is refuted by the Farnborough fans.

Enough with the gibberish.

The updates are usually very quick but, for once I'm at the game, so I tend to forget but there's normally enough of us about to get it done.
