All in all, probably the most lacklustre display I have seen this campaign. Hungerford had an appetite for this one from the off and Yate, IMHO, didn't seem as though they wanted to be there.
I am trying to take some positives from this, but finding it difficult. I can't really say anyone in the team excelled themselves, some effort in certain quarters and very little effort from others.
It was commented on that supporters can cope with losing as long as they can see effort and commitment so from this aspect, this team performance was very disappointing. Unfortunately, Edd was taken off (presumably a knock, cos there would have been absolutely no tactical reason to sub him) but it really sums things up when the other changes are to take off both your starting strikers simultaneously with about 10 mins left and the game well lost by then. That really baffled me !!
Good, well taken goals by the deserved winners of this tie. They must have felt £3000 was a good enough incentive to be up for this game. I really feel concerned that it appeared Yate didn't have the same application.
Never mind, concentrate on the league as the saying goes but another M4 trip on Saturday back to Hungerford is too much to stomach too soon after this performance, I am sorry to say.
