Seems like we've earned a great point at Paulton tonight in a 1-1 draw, good to see Reynolds back on the score sheet that should restore some confidence for him.

Yes, just got back from a very good Yate performance and felt we could even have come away with all 3 points.

There seems a new positive vibe on the field and all the players are responding to that.

Great headed goal from Reynolds as he lost his marker from a corner...great delivery from Zane Simpson too.

Having took the lead we were unfortunate to concede 1minute before half time. Growcott, who had a good game and pulled off a stunning save from a dipping goalbound strike in the 2nd half, misjudged a punt upfield from Paulton and their striker got something on it from a tight angle and the ball hit the inside of the post and crept in.
Tbh though , the worst aspect of the goal was the recurrence of our old habit of winning a corner at one end of the pitch........and then conceding 10 seconds later !!!!!!!!!

All in all , a good point, a good performance and a lot of positives.

Good to see Sam Duggan and Lee Matthews at the match supporting their team mates as well.

Good point away from home against a side that must be high on confidence at the moment, what with Chippenham to face on the cup on Saturday and having turned over Newport County & VTFC. Really bad equaliser to concede right at the break, I think if we could have held out till halftime we could have definitely taken all 3 points, cos although Paulton created plenty in the second half, they were pretty nervy & reckless in front of goal, and again we battled hard right through the team.

Their goal seemed to knock a bit the stuffing out of the lads as we didnt really create anything of note in the second period and I was happy to settle for a point at the end.

One thing of concern. I heard it mentioned that Jake Fox amongst others played Sunday as well as Saturday v.Bedford and this match too. Surely 3 games in successive days is pushing it a bit. Surely Moggy has got some say in this, as Yate, I presume, is the "premier" club that they are turning out for, and isn't this level of football deemed "semi-pro."

Not surprisingly, Jake did look a bit over tired before being "subbed", but perhaps I am unfair, as I am comparing his "good" performance v. Paulton against his "outstanding" debut v. Bedford.

Anyone know the other players involved ? Can anyone shed any light on this?

I'm not sure what my thoughts are at the moment regarding Sunday football.

Obviously 3 matches in 3 days is a lot to ask of a player and both Zane and Jake, despite playing well v Paulton, looked a little less energetic compared to Saturday.......However,......... It's unusual to play on a Monday so that scenario won't repeat itself and , more importantly,..........maybe the experience of playing for Lebeqs ( I think it is ) is actually doing these guys some good!

After all, they are young and relatively inexperienced and so perhaps they will benefit from the extra games, playing with a different group of players and different coaches. Lebeqs is a decent side and if they stay injury free it could enhance their overall game .

For me the jury is out on this one.........with Dean Griffiths last season it was different because a) he was contracted and b) he would hold back on a Saturday or try to get subbed early to, in my opinion, save himself for the Sunday matches.....not acceptable.

If the players give 100% for Yate then maybe we should be tolerant of their Sunday footie with their mates.

The problems with Sunday football occurs when people get sent off and suspended. They always seem to be more severe in punishing lower level players than Southern League or similar. It must be very galling for a manager to lose a player to suspension when he wasn't even playing for you!
