Postby Yatesman on Mon Dec 08, 2008 3:38 pm

The GFA Cup Quarter final Clash between Yate Town and Bristol Rovers due to be played at Lodge Rd Tomorrow evening has been called off because...............Rovers can't find enough players to field a team!

What sort of 2nd rate, shower of sh*t club are they running over there?

I expect Rovers would want to play the youth players and there already playing on tuesday in the youth FA Cup.

It is supposed to be a first team fixture so they should be forced to field a team by the GFA. This is whay happens when you disband your reserves.

Absolutely right. They should be forced to field a team. I bet the British Gas Business Football League would make us field a team if a league fixture clashed with a runout for our younger players in some youth cup or similar.

A real pity, my Jack Russell was looking forward to another good Tuesday night walk to Lodge Road and back, and a hotdog at halftime. He is becoming a real fan!!

On the subject of the GFA Cup match against The Gas, does anyone know of a rearranged date yet?

It's only a First team game for Yate. The actual fixture on the Gloucestershire FA site is against Bristol Rovers Reserves. As they don't have a Reserve side, then it will have to be the youngsters
