Preparing for life in Division 1 South and West

Postby THE LODGE ROAD 4 on Fri Mar 06, 2009 1:16 pm

It has now become perfectly clear we are going to get relegated and preparing for next season in a lower division as yet another player Alex Stanley leaves the club and we replace him with an unknown from Frys!!! So correct me if I am wrong that's four players to leave the club, Being replaced by a player who's been injured all season on loan and a player un tried at this level of football!!! Oh and we have tried to sign Andy Cook from Hallen to replace Chenns in midfield no disrespect to the guy but it's hardly like for like. Which gets me thinking that when wacko Jacko and his merry men made the stupid decision to sack Thommo he was already thinking of saving money on wages and not really trying to stay in the Premier division??? I think everyone knew players would leave if Thommo was sacked and so they have, But it begs the question who's next to leave??? Whoever it is no fear I am sure they will be replaced by some inferior player from the downs. It would be nice to hear the reason why Thommo was sacked and the apparant lack of plan to get us out of trouble by the muppets sorry committee???

I'll see you on the far post

No you won't!!!

Have to say I agree that it looks as if we are not making much of an effort to sign players of the calibre needed.
Our squad is now looking very threadbare and is even worse when you consider that two players are only on loan at the club.
It's my understanding that Bath City will be looking to take back Ali Gibb after his last game, which I think is this Saturday. I can't see Bristol Rovers being very happy if Joe White is going to be played out of position as it's hardly doing his development much good.
Even Mangotsfield seem to be signing players with experience at Southern League level. Their experiment signing players from Hanham earlier in the season wasn't exactly a success and we are signing people from that level.
It's a big jump from Frys to Southern League Premier.

dave mogg is now in charge like it or not, and we"ve got to get behind him and his teams, if he"s got no cash to get someone with more experience then he is doing his best. as i said we"ve all got to get behind the team tomorrow come on the bluebells

As the LR4 says, it looks as though this season has now been written off. That would be a grave mistake by the board as we would struggle to regain our Prem status. Also it would surely cost Jacko his position as Chairman as his justification for replacing Thommo( poor results) would have backfired.
As LC says , even the Mangos look to be taking their fight for survival seriously, whereas we are bumbling along losing more players than we are signing, although I'd like to wish the new lad all the best and think he's shown a lot of guts to step up to this level.
But ultimately, as Terrphil says, we have to back the new manager. He's here to stay and hasn't himself done anything wrong. One good result can set us on our way. We still have a good set of players, if only they could lift themselves a bit.
