The final whistle came as a shock.........we hadn't conceded.

Didn't ever look like scoring either.

Impressed with Mititri who had a good game.

I wish Blakemore would not try to flick everything round people with the outside of his boot, or control everthing with his right foot.( your left foot can do it just as effectively!)
His flicks and push-ons rarely come off and he ends up giving possession back. I wsh he would control the ball properly then pick out a simple, solid side- footed pass . I can see what he's trying to do, but it never works!

Not a good game, we cancelled eachother out.

It was good to keep a clean sheet but were not getting enough goals.

I saw Jason Wood at the match so I hope there's a chance he could return. He would make a big difference on the left and release aaron back into the attack where he is more effective.

Agreed. It was good to keep a clean sheet but we do need home wins from these sort of matches.

The last couple of home defeats, apart from conceding soft goals, have been noticeable for the away teams driving their wide midfielders into the corners and their strikers/central midfield making late runs into the box to connect with balls squared across.

Chen apart, we don't seem to have a lot of creativity in midfield. One incisive pass through the channels in 90 mins isn't enough. Unfortunately Aaron couldn't make the best of it, but I honestly can't remember anything else clearcut.

Never mind, build on the clean sheet and bring on Oxford 2mrw!

As you say, winning matches against the teams around us is the essence of survival, anything else is a bonus, which uis why tonight is so important.

I agree that our wide play has been lacking this season and it's frustrating when other teams come here and demonstrate exactly how to do it.
This is why bringing Woody back to Lodge Rd should be a priority for the club.

I spoke to him on Saturday and he's now been released by Bath City and is currently looking at offers from a number of clubs.
Yate have spoken to him, as have Chippenham, where he was on loan for a while.
I told him that everyone at Yate would love to see him playing for us again and I know Chippenham aren't flush with money, so we'll have to wait and see.
